my ancestor matthew WIEHL lived there before and after the civil war removing  about 1870 to faribault co. His wife was Sally or Sarah Ann (nee WALKER) who signed a quitclaim deed in 1867 on their property in  Milton twp and  she returned to MO; he remarried and had custody of their several children; Is there a divorce record for Matthew and Sarah Wiehl  somewhere in  Dodge Co.? It has not been located by many of the descendants and we wonder if he ever got one..Matt was from baden, germany and he died in Glencoe MN   and is buried in the catholic cemetery with his 2nd wife that he married in 1869.. this would give a time frame for the separation or divorce..Sally was still alive in 1871 and mentioned in her father's will  as getting her portion of the estate at her divorce.  Her parents are both buried in Clay Co MO..but  cannot find her death place yet ; it appears from an old letter that she died  in 1906  in ks or mo...Matt served in the 2nd mn reg. in civil war enlisting at Wasioja I think. Could he be found in a history there re-war data??Does anyone have a picture  of him.?  He was a friend to  a family named KAISER of Kasson, Mn...Any help about Matthew or Sally Wiehl and their time in Dodge co mn would be appreciated. They lived there from 1858 thru 1867 at least..THANKS!  Danette

I am looking for information on Andrew WILLOCK, and his wife Anne MCFADDEN and A.J. DOTY (also known as John DOTY), and his wife Sahra BIDWELL.  Neither of these couples were born in Dodge County, but both sets of them traveled from Pennsylvania and New York to settle in the Dodge County area.  Andrew WILLOCK and Anne MCFADDEN had at least 2 boys whose names were William WILLOCK and Jesse WILLOCK.  John DOTY and Sahra BIDWELL had at least one daughter whose name was Harriet (Haty) DOTY.  William WILLOCK and Harriet DOTY married and became my grandparents.  I have been able to trace them from Waseca Minnesota to either Dodge County or Ohlmsted County.  If you have any information regarding any of these people please contact me at  Specifically I am looking for their place of burial, death certificate, or land transactions

I am trying to do some research on my grandmother. Her name was Gertrude Benson (died 4/3/1914) Pfiefer.  I have located her obituary and she is supposed to be buried on the Benson family plot at the First Lutheran Cemetery.  I have been out there and cannot locate it.. I'm wondering if I have the right location... Is this cemetery 1 mile east of Blooming on Hwy 56 and then south a mile or so?  On this John Dalby data base is there also a listing of who is buried in each cemetery?    Any help in the location of this plot would be helpful..thank you Mary Hansen

I'm searching for additional information regarding my great grandfather:
John ANDERSON  DOB: 1/22/1859  DOD: 10/30/1942. Buried in Riverside Cemetary, Dodge County. Married to Ida D. (Hall) Anderson DOD: 3/17/1946
He lived in Ely for a number of years and fathered a child (John Anderson, DOB 1894, my grandfather) by an Ojibwe woman (Otumewaygeshigoke) who died in 1903. My grandfather was raised by another family in Ely, although his father would visit from time to time when he was a young man.
I have a Ely newspaper photo of the elder John Anderson and articles about his business activities in Tower and Ely. I have his obituary from the Dodge Center newspaper,  but am interested in any other local newspaper articles and/or photographs of him.  Thank you

I've been doing research on the Mohn (Moen) family groups who homesteaded in Vernon township.  I am particularly interested in a Charles Mohn who arrived there from Norway and acquired a farm there in the early 1870's.  He married an Anna Frederickson in 1871.  Apparently he was related to Nils Thorbjorn Mohn and his half brother Thorbjorn Bjornson Mohn who also both had farms very close to him in Vernon township.  All of these people came from Norway.  I would love to know what that relationship was. Thank-you and my best wishes.

We are searching for information on James S. GIBSON and family.  His parents were William P. GIBSON and Martha D. GIBSON.  We believe they resided near Mantorville around 1866.  We believe there were nine children in the GIBSON family. James S. GIBSON may have attended NorthWestern College at Washoja (?) and a high school in Owatonna. James married Evaline LIBBY, daughter of Thomas LIBBY, a Methodist minister.  The marriage may have been in Owatonna.  James GIBSON attended Chicago Medical College from which he graduated in 1869.  This information from the Atwater, Minnesota, Historical Society.  We think that William P. GIBSON was Scotch Irish.

I would like to correspond with anyone who has information on the Osborn family.  My ggrandmother was married to Thomas OSBORN. and they lived around the Dodge Center  Mantorville area.  My ggrandmothers name was Elizabeth FALLON. She was from Ireland and came to America in 1837.  She was in MS in 1838 and married WM Martin Bosley by whom she had 4 Children; Mary,Lucy,a twin ; the other died, and WM (Bill Bosley)  After Rev. Bosley Drowned she married Thomas Osborn and raised a large family.  She died in 1883 after the big storm.  I am hoping some one in the Osborn family may have more information as to any information I do not have.  Thank you.

I am looking for any information on a SMITH family who lived in Dodge Center in1880.  In the 1880 census they were listed as:  Oscar, Ellen, Ella and Ida SMITH.  Ella married a John Jones in 1885, and Ida married John Jacob Bowman in 1881 in Dodge County, but they lived in St. Paul.  Any information would be appreciated.
