DIES AT ROCHESTER HOME AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS WITH A HEART ATTACK
George W. Ballard, Kasson Resident nearly sixty years of his life, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home 210 1/2 Fourth Ave. N.W., Rochester, at 5:15p.m.last week Thursday. He had a cold for about a week and had gotten up Thursday morning at his usual time, apparently feeling better than usual. At about 5:00 o'clock that afternoon he complained of his chest aching and passed away about 15 minutes later.
George W. Ballard was born in Sauk County, WI., October 13, 1859, his parents being Harrison P. and Serena (Benson) Ballard. November 11, 1883, he was married to Miss Rose Farell at Henry, SD. By this union four children were born; Harrison A. Ballard residing at Deadwood, SD.; Charles Ballard whose death occured shortly after his birth; Bess Ballard of Rochester; and Hazel (Mrs. Lyall decker) at Waterloo, IA.
Coming from WI. with his parents, at the age of ten, he grew to manhood here and was a Kasson resident until about ten years ago, when he sold his home and moved to Rochester, which has since been his abode.
At the time of his death Feb. 16, 1939 he had attained the age of 79 years, four months, and three days.
Internment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville, MN.
