Residing three miles northeast of Dodge Center, died after a lingering illness Sunday morning May 30, 1915, at an age of 78 years and 23 days.
Peter Beilenberg was born in Germany, May 6, 1837, where he received a good education in the graded schools of that country. At the age of 28, in the year 1865 he came to America, in company with three brothers and located at Davenport, Iowa, in the following year came to Dodge county, Minnesota, where he has since lived. Something remarkable about the four brothers is that their deaths have come in rotation, John the oldest, died in 1884, Claus the second oldest died in 1908, Peter, being the third oldest, died in 1915, and Herman, the youngest, is still living and resides in St. Paul. His mother died at his home in 1897 at the age of 85 years.
Farming was his occupation, and as such he was very successful, being able to spend his later years independently.
He is survived by his widow, a son and a daughter and five grand children who with his large circle of friends, mourn his departure.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home, and at 2 o'clock from the Congregational church, Rev. Colin Bain, officiating, and the body laid at rest in Riverside cemetery.
