MRS. ELLEN HARMER
Ellen Swam was born at Gallitzen, Pennsylvania, Sept. 19, 1853, and died at
her home in Claremont township, Wednesday Feb. 17, 1909, aged 55 years, 4
months and 28 days.
When a girl of three years, she came, with her parents to Minnesota, and
settled in Claremont township, and where in 1871 she was married to John
Harmer.
She leaves to mourn her death a husband and four children, Mrs. Edw.
McMartin, of Moscow, Idaho, Mabel, John and Hope, who are at home, also two
sisters, Mrs. H. Harmer, of Northfield, and Mrs. Wm. Bell, of Dodge Center,
and one brother, D. J. Swam, of Pipestone, Minn. besides a large number of
relatives and friends, who have known her as a true Christian woman and
willing helper through life.
The funeral services were held from the St. Frances de Sales Church, of
Claremont, Saturday, and the remains, followed by a large number of relatives
and friends, who were there to pay a last farewell to the departed as a
tribute of the high esteem in which she was held, and the remains were laid
to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
